'The stars are always there, but we miss them in the dirt and clouds and we miss them in the storms. Tell them to remember hope. We have Hope.' - Renee Yohe

Such longing innocence, she wants to fight the world of pain.
But in every tear or grimace, her tears turn her to shame.
They couldn't stay together, wouldn't learn to get along.
And soon their little girl would be their only bond that held strong.

Chorus
And with no one to hold her hand, no sweet or loving kiss.
She learned to love to fight the world, and her life became a mess
Who now will she dance with, will she just have to dry her tears?
And when the world takes her over, who can she tell her fears?
Home is a word, but no location, no place to dwell, no force.
She has a heart that's torn to pieces, through separation or divorce.

They argued through the signing and who would keep the house.
When they noticed their only daughter, who was quiet as a mouse.
Father shook his head, no, "I have no time to waste on this."
While to be a poor and single mother, wasn't mom's first wish.

And with no one to hold her head high, no sweet or loving kiss.
She learned to love to fight the world, and her life became a mess
Who now will she dance with, will she just have to dry her tears?
And when the world takes her over, who can she tell her fears?
Home is a word, but no location, no place to dwell, no force.
She has a heart that's torn to pieces, through the signing for divorce.

Mama draws the short end and takes her daughter with a sigh.
Before they depart for 'home' they say their tearless goodbyes.
Remarriage takes barely years and new families come in.
Mom and dad's first daughter is left with the shortest end.

And she taught herself to hold her head high, to live without the world she missed.
She has learned that love has no world, and her parents have no forgiveness.
What father will she dance with which mother dries her tears?
And when the world takes her over, who can she tell her fears?
Home is a word without location, a place to dwell by force.
She has a heart that's grown pieces, the daughter of divorce.

"Life is a package that you have to sign for. Yes, it's free. No, there's no guarantee as to what it holds. Open with caution, it's 'FRAGILE'." (I made this up.)

I like it. I could relate to most of this. Lots of raw feeling in this.
