Like jewels, the tears fall down his cheeks
As he looks at the blue blanket
He calls the sky, soaring miles and miles before him.
He stretches out his featherless arms
Trying to find his place in the V of geese.
He wants to fly up to the sky and never come back.

Won't you think about how much an act of kindness
Would mean to a life wasted away on the sidewalk.
So many lives scattered among us,
Only we're too busy to notice them
Fading away.

She cowers in the corner, forgotten by the world
She's learned to hate so much.
Tears of anguish and pain mix together.
It's too hard for her to watch
Her lifeless dreams strewn around her.

Won't you think about how much an act of kindness
Would mean to a life wasted away on the sidewalk.
So many lives scattered among us,
Only we're too busy to notice them
Fading away.

For every broken life, there is hope
That we will find our way out of this,
This dark hole.

Won't you think about how much an act of kindness
Would mean to a life wasted away on the sidewalk.
So many lives scattered among us,
Only we're too busy to notice them
Fading away.

The author's comments:
I love it when God places a song on my heart just at the right time, especially when I need it. It's so meaningful to me and reminds me that wherever we are, no matter what's going on, He's always there and ready with His arms wide open for us to run into.

Hello. I'm here to comment on the last sentence of your description- on how a cup of coffee and a warm winter night keep you content with life. There is such pleasure in even imagining it- so thank you! (There seem to be a lot of Teens here with names beginning with Ray, by the way)

Pretty. And sad, but true. Even a simple smile can change someone's day.
