Her Cure
It’s been a while since it touched her lips
With the bottle in front of her she sits
She thought those days would always last
She tries so hard not to pour a glass
Her mind goes back to when they first kissed,
She never thought life could throw this twist.
The day he left without turning back,
She felt her heart break with a burning crack.
Please God take her from this mess,
She doesn’t want to see what happens next.
She tries to drink her pain away,
But those memories will always stay.
So, please God take her from this mess.
She loves that feeling as she sips,
On her mouth when the bottle tips.
That rush of strength and soothing heal.
That curing high that she needs to feel.
She knocks the lamp and hits the floor,
When she opens her eyes she feels so soar.
The good feeling never seems to last,
The good feelings are only in the past
Please God take her from this mess,
She doesn’t want to see what happens next.
She tries to drink her pain away,
But those memories will always stay.
So please God take her from this mess.
She doesn’t want to see what happens next
