Nerds Unite!
If those who mind don’t matter
And those who matter don’t mind
Then why is it that
Everybody’s trying to find
Their link to the in-crowd
That perfect cookie-cutter mold
While the ones who make the difference
Are the different and bold?
So quit pretending you’re what
Everybody wants you to be.
Throw away the mask you’re
Hiding behind; suddenly you’re free
To do what you love.
So what if they call you a freak?
It’s way more fun anyway
Being a geek!
So break the label on the package deal
To show the side of you that’s real,
That only you can originate,
For your life’s not theirs to create.
And for those who’ll join this fight
Scream oh yeah, nerds unite!
Maybe they say you can’t.
Maybe it’s hard to do,
But maybe somewhere you’ll
Find the strength to see it through.
And if they don’t like you
Exactly as you are,
Let them move on, but
You won’t have to look far
For someone who will accept
You and let it be known
That if you are different
You’re not alone.
So break the label on the package deal
To show the side of you that’s real,
That only you can originate,
For your life’s not theirs to create.
And for those who’ll join this fight
Scream oh yeah, nerds unite!
