The Beast
Too many times,
I didn’t see you then
I faced the sky,
But you were gone again.
So could this be?
Is this the end?
Is it really to late
To find my friend?
I wish that beast called fate
Had never torn us apart.
Many stories were spun
Of our potential love
One of limitless strength
And adoration from above.
Had I ever then believed
That this could all be true,
Then perhaps I could have had
Another chance to be with you.
Yet I didn’t,
And I couldn’t
I should've,
But I wouldn’t
Have had the might
To reach you then
And all the will
To come again.
I wish that beast called hate
Had never torn myself apart.
