Tuesday Mourning
Crew cut hair, dark brown eyes
A smile as white as the clouds in the sky
And your heart pumping
Through the palm of your hand
On that first day
The friendly smile crept onto your face
You had the heart I wanted to replace
With the one who made me cry
The night before
Yet the droplets fell
On that Tuesday morning
And I walked alone
Without your arms to hold me
Without you, on my own
And here’s my life at the moment,
Have you seen me?
My past is blurred,
And my present is miserable,
My past, my present, my future.
Pulled out from under my feet.
We would laugh in the car,
And sing whoaaa,
And before we said goodbye
You’d lean in and ask me
And say
“Baby, don’t forget about that goodbye kiss.
Love, it’s you I’m going to miss.
And I can’t wait to see your face tomorrow.”
Tomorrow
(Chorus)
You promised me forever
And my heart was yours
Wherever, whenever
With a hand on my heart.
(Chorus)
And here’s my life at the moment
Have you seen me?
My past is blurred
And my present is miserable
Never thought we wouldn’t see that day
That Tuesday morning.
