Shady Pictures of the Past
I remember the fleeting feeling inside,
When, for a moment,
I had nothing to hide.
For a second I knew I had friends,
And no matter what,
They would follow me until the end.
But seconds don’t last,
And moments don’t live.
At the end of the day,
Memories are all we have to give.
Shady pictures of the past.
So many emotions flow through my veins.
Of those, sadly, I don’t hold the reins.
I cannot be mad,
And it’s wrong to regret.
All I can do is remember the first day we met.
And which you good luck from there.
But seconds don’t last,
And moments don’t live.
At the end of the day,
moments are all we have to give.
Shady pictures of the past.
Remember all the wacky situations?
Those silly nights and mornings.
Countless inside jokes we’d play,
But just as seconds do,
Most will fade away.
Because seconds don’t last,
And moments don’t live,
At the end of the day
Memories are all we have to give.
Shady pictures of the past.
I don’t doubt that I will cry,
when the moment comes to say goodbye.
But I know that after a time acceptance will penetrate me.
And with that, I give these memories to you.
Remember Me.
