When There Was September
I hope you didn't forget
Everything we had
It was one, one special moment
I wish could come back
How we would drive the coast of Maine
And our lips met in the pouring rain every September
When we were young, I didn't know a thing
When there was September
We didn't waste a thing
When there was September
You promised you'd remember
The coast, you and I
I gave you my heart
I got back every part
You left me with nothin' but the coast and my heart
So I hear you're doing fine
I guess I don't cross your mind
But don't you know you're always on mine?
As I sit here and those waves crash
It brings me back to simple times
So hold your breath and count to 3
Close your eyes and take it in
'Cause now you regret loosing me
You know you'll die without me
When there was September
We didn't waste a thing
When there was September
You promised you'd remember
The coast, you and I
I gave you my heart, I got back every part
You left me with nothin' but the coast and my heart
I remember how you tasted
The way you held me
I fell head over heels
For you to leave me like this
But I relized you're just like all the rest
When we're young we're dumb
And I do regret that summer
That was full of regrets
But be strong and move on, the past is gone, but I can't stop
and I won't stop thinking of you
When there was September
We didn't waste a thing
When there was September
You promised you 'd remember
The coast, you and I
I gave you my heart I got back every part
You left me with nothin'
But the coast and my heart
Oooooh, yeah
Don't forget

This "song" (if you can call it that;) was inspired by a recent trip that I took in September in combination with a band called The Maine and their major influences. It means a lot more to me than it does to you, but I guess that it has a universal meaning: love is a struggle.
