All You'd Have
I'm standing here on trial today
For the words I wouldn't say.
You've gathered them all against me
And you throw them in my face.
You want me to give you excuses,
Gathered like red roses from a white picket fence,
And offer them to you dressed up as some kind of misguided defense,
But I won't do that.
I feel next to nothing
When you declare me guilty in your eyes,
And if I said the words right now
Then all you'd have are lies.
I don't know why you stayed so long,
When I never even invited you in.
You've cared more than I did all along
And now you say you deserved more to begin with.
You'll notice I'm not arguing,
My stance is is stoic and remote.
I've already started forgetting you,
Your voice fading from your throat.
I barely even notice that you're leaving,
I've remained unchanged by you,
And what leaves you angry and disbelieving
Is that I don't even care what you do.
I'm standing here on trial today
For the words that I wouldn't say.
You've gathered them all against me
And you throw them in my face.
You want me to give you excuses,
Gathered like red roses from a white wooden fence,
And offer them to you dressed up as some kind of misguided defense,
But I won't do that.
I feel next to nothing
When you declare me guilty in your eyes,
And if I said the words right now
Then all you'd have are lies.
Three little words that mean everything to you
And nothing in my eyes,
And if I said the words for you right now
Then all you'd have are lies.
