Last Hope
I’ve been waiting so long,
please rescue me.
Tell the pilot to pick up speed.
Keep the plane steady,
take a deep breathe.
Because by the time you get here,
I’ll be gone.
The city is drowning
in every last hope.
Save me from this state,
I’m desperate for your presense.
Erase these memories.
Now the sun is setting,
the sky is blazing.
And you’re still not here.
Not a hope in sight,
tell me did you have a nice flight?
Not even this city could
put out the fire.
Don’t bother coming back.
Because by the time you get here,
I’ll be gone.
Now I’m drowning
with the rest of this god forsaken city.
My lungs are filled
with people’s last hopes.
Don’t mind if I dream of you
these last few minutes.
You make sane
with times like these.
I’m sinking so slowly
into these darkened depths.
No, I don’t need your sorrow
when my body hits the ground.
It’s a little late for sorry
because I’m dying
with even my very last hope.
