Home (Your Superman)
You wake up,
Seeing those smiling faces ‘round you,
Welcoming you
Back home.
Their faces are etched
With the smiles of their years,
And they whisper into your ear:
“I won’t always be your superman.
You’ll be far away,
The world on your shoulders.
But I know
That things will be okay
If you’re your superman with me.”
Now, weeks go by
And things are looking up
Past the stars that you commonly see.
But those back down to Earth
Who think there is no u-turn—
Let them whisper in your ear:
“I won’t always be your superman.
You’ll be far away,
The world on your shoulders.
But I know
That things will be okay
If you’re your superman with me.
If you’ll just fly away with me.
If you’re my superman with me.”
