A Child's Plea
~Verse 1~
Dear Mr.Editor,
I have a question for you.
Why do people fight?
Why do mommy's cry?
And why do daddy's never come home?
Dear Mr.Editor.
Please write back soon.
My mommy keeps crying,
And I want it to stop,
Maybe you know what to do.
~Chorus~
I miss my daddy, Sir.
I want him to come home!
I miss when daddy would play,
Hide and seek.
I miss my mommy's smile.
I can tell when she's faking it.
I miss when mommy would hug me.
And tell me I love you.
~Verse 2~
Dear Mr.Editor,
Why haven't you written back?
I don't like the people,
Trying to take me away,
They called my mommy a drunk!
Dear Mr.Editor,
Please help me!
I don't want to go,
To this foster home.
I just want mommy and daddy back.
~Chorus 2~
'Cause I miss my family, Sir.
And I just want to go home.
I hate this place so much,
That it hurts.
And I miss the old days,
Where we'd spend whole days playing.
I can't do that here,
And people here are so mean!
~Chorus 3~ (Ending Chorus)
Oh I miss my family, Sir.
And I just want to go home.
And I miss my daddy very much.
And I miss my mommy too.
Do you know where they are?
I really want to be with them,
I want to see them again sometime,
But my teacher told me, God took them away...
But what does that mean??

It's the story of a little girl writing letters to an editor of paper. She tells him about her father walking out on her, and how her mother is an alcoholic. The editor never responds, but she never stops writing. She continues to write to him about her new foster home, and how much she misses her family. In the end, both her parents die of substance abuse (alcohol, drugs, etc.)but she never really understands it.
