you were the funny one
i knew it because i'd seen you before
i tried to get your attention
but you go past me and out the door
till that night when i finally got you to notice me
i was falling for you literally

chourus:
we were running outside with nothing but moonlight
laughing hysterically
and i was thanking god for you for helping me through
the rough spots
and the bumps in the road
at the end of the night
when we said goodbye
and all of this was over
not another word was ever said about
what happened
oh, look what happened
to you and me

2nd:
you still wont talk to me
i dont understand
ever since that night
i thought maybe we could be
forever
i tried to get your attention
but you'd go past me and out the door
i probably shoouldnt even remember
what happened the night before

chourus

bridge:
what happened to you
what happened to me
what happened to every dream
maybe i dont see it
maybe im naiive
baby i dont understand
could you tell me please

we were running outside with nothing but moonlight
laughing hysterically
and i was thanking god for you for helping me through
the rough spots
and the bumps in the road
at the end of the night
when we said goodbye
and all of this was over
not another word was ever said about
what happened
oh, look what happened
to you and me
