Trying to Find My Steady Ground
I'm out here
All alone
I'm staring at the far - off shore
Thinking 'is there any more
to life?'
Turning turning
spinning round
Trying to find my steady ground
I can feel it almost out of reach
but still as far away
as that distant beach
I see the people on the shore
happy running playing, sure
do they even see me
when I'm so so far away
all I need is one chance please
I'm screaming at them
'hey can't you hear me'
but no one even turns to look
its like theyre the reader
and im the book
cover.
Turning turning
Spinning round
Trying to find my steady ground
I can feel it almost out of reach
as far away as that distant beach
I jump to the edge
almost as close as i can get
looking at the far - off coast
It's the one thing
that i need the most
I take a deep breath
and just
Let
it
go.
Night has fallen
and so have i
I'm down here
all alone
I'm watching the stars
They're not alone
They have each other
Up in the sky
But who said that I
had to be alone?
That's up to me
And no one no one
no one else
can tell me what to
Do.
I get up one last time
Take one last look at the distant shore
Take one last look
Up at the stars
And I step
and plunge
and fall
and dive
and enter
into the water
And make my way to the
Distant shore.
I've finally found my steady ground
No longer spinning round and round
And now that I've stopped the turning motion
It's time for me to help someone else
escape the dizzying ocean
And to help them see the stars
That I now see.
