Changes Fast
Changes Fast
There’ll come a time in every young man’s life
When he’ll meets a girl that’ll just feel right.
But there’s always that chance that she won’t agree,
Some of those times, it just ain’t meant to be.
Chord
She’ll be a girl he can talk to, look to, stare at and dream about.
He’ll want to so bad, but can’t ask her out.
Someone else will and she’ll change so fast,
She won’t be that girl that he thought would last.
We weren’t grown yet, I wasn’t sixteen,
I ain’t a football star, she ain’t a homecoming queen
But she had my heart till I realized she changed,
That girl that I knew just wadn’t the same.
She was a girl I could talk to, look to, stare at and dream about.
I wanted to so bad but couldn’t ask her out
Someone else did and she changed so fast,
She ain’t that girl that I thought would last.
Now she’s a hotshot, a real big deal.
I’m still sittin’ here with a rod and reel
I ain’t changed much, and it sure ain’t smart,
But that little girl I knew still has my heart.
She was a girl I could talk to, look to, stare at and dream about.
I wanted to so bad, but didn’t ask her out.
Someone else did and she changed so fast.
We’re still friends, but the dream didn’t last.
I still look to her, she still talks to me.
I’m a track star; she’s on the swim team.
But I still look everywhere I go
For a one just like the girl I lost long ago.
A girl I can talk to, look to, stare at, and dream about.
I know this time, I’ll ask her out.
We’ll settle down and things’ll change fast,
And I’ll forget the girl who didn’t last.
She was a girl I could talk to, look to, stare at and dream about.
I wanted to so bad; thank god I didn’t ask her out
After that, we changed so fast,
Love may not, but good friends last.
