The boys will fly and the girl will try
To keep up as they glide
The burning chests, the sun kissed flesh
Means nothing on the ride
Birthday party on the go
The bikers hit their breaks
Granola bars and slurpees but
No candles or a cake
The girl’s floral blue patterned shorts
Are cargos in disguise
If only she had looked the part
She’d be one of the guys
But there’s no mirrors on this road
And the cameras point towards trees
She becomes a boy when she’s
On mountain bikes and skis
Strip mall bricks will cool their backs
This funny sunny June
X marks the spot, the boys found gold
And they’ll find themselves soon
The hammock skims the ground
As I gift the boys with flight
Cause someone has to hold the string
If you’re to fly a kite
