Burning Bridges Are Plentiful (Song)
Key
Chorus
Bridge
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The bridge is finally done burning
the wood is splitting and rotting
it's falling apart tearing at the seam
Tragically, the wood it screams
One by one the planks they fall
So very tall and yet too small
Put together at the same time
Still forever lacking a proper rhyme
the bridge is finally done burning
and it's a long way from learning
'bout all the animals that call it home
lost to the flame and died alone
The bridge is finally done burning
Made of leather brown wood
It stood so tall until it fell
How unfair it must have been
A man-made fire as a fate
Eventually returns to the soil
Yet the woods already been ruined
Not lost, but it'll never again be wooden
The bridge is finally done burning
my dear it's never looked so yearning
Is it good or bad it's so unclear
In the brown wood is carved fear
the smoke is hogging up the sky
it's ashes are clogging our eyes
the wood is turning black and gray
They're all crying "mayday!"
The bridge a past I've never known
decorated by a garden gnome
A joint memory now inflamed
A fire that can never be tamed
The bridge is finally done burning
Made of leather brown wood
It stood so tall until it fell
How unfair it must have been
A man-made fire as a fate
Eventually returns to the soil
Yet the woods already been ruined
Not lost, but it'll never again be wooden
To die a graceful death
It can hardly afford
Flame and heat, gray skies
"It's just one fire", time
and time again they say
The destruction of a structure
Just to convenience humans
Gasses released, world of sorrow
Constant consumers are we,
tomorrow's getting more bleak.
Dominoes falling, will we be crushed?
If we cry and fight, could that make it right?
Apocalyptic days ahead, looming over
A fork in the road, hurry and select a path
Vote for survival
The bridge is finally done burning
Made of leather brown wood
It stood so tall until it fell
How unfair it must have been
A man-made fire as a fate
Eventually returns to the soil
Yet the woods already been ruined
Not lost, but it'll never again be wooden

This is a song inspired by climate change. It's my first post on this website, but I've been writing poetry for two years!
