Thanksgiving in Connecticut
In the small town of Guilford along the shoreline,
You’ll find a turkey farm that is quite divine
As soon as you turn into the long driveway,
You’ll spot some colorful turkeys along the way
It’s here where the Thanksgiving tradition starts
It’s here where we pick up our turkey and then depart
Our house is filled with love and laughter
Family arrives and we’ll watch scary movies after
We’ll make pumpkin pie as the turkey roasts
My grandparents always like to be the hosts
Soon, all of the family is around the table,
Four cousins, three dogs, two aunts, and two uncles
My favorite part of the meal is the cranberry sauce
It’s sweet and it’s tart and it has a nice gloss
The food is cleaned up, we have finished eating
It’s time for some board games, there’s no time for sleeping
My uncle takes pictures, “Click, click” that’s his camera
It’s as big as an elephant and we all surround Grandma
Thanksgiving is over, we all had a fun day
We were thankful last Thursday, what else can I say?

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. We all go to my grandparents' house. Being able to spend time with family is one of the things I cherish the most. We have many traditions on Thanksgiving Day as seen in the poem.
