It's Not Real Yet
[Verse]
It’s the eye of the storm
Somehow I’m still alive
Is this the new norm?
Can I no longer thrive
In this body of mine
Could I just disappear?
Have I crossed the line?
Could I just remain here?
[Chorus]
It’s~
Not~
Real~
Yet~
It’s~
Not~
Real~
Yet~
[Verse 2]
I could deny it all
Start back from square one
I could willingly crawl
The outside world has won
I can’t keep it inside
Should I open the door?
If there’s nowhere to hide
I might drop dead on the floor
[Chorus 2]
It’s~ (not a fetish*)
Not~ (going away*)
Real~ (sick of your sh*t*)
Yet~ (you just won’t stop*)
It’s~ (real and valid*)
Not~ (going away*)
Real~ (sick of your sh*t*)
Yet~ (we lose the fight*)
It’s~
Not~
Real~
Yet~
It’s…
Real.
What
Now?
(*whisper in the background)

“It’s Not Real Yet” shows someone dealing with the anxieties of possibly coming out and facing the outside world. They continue to live in denial and try to push away all of the anxieties regarding the consistent transphobia in large parts of society. It concludes with an acceptance that the protagonist doesn’t align with their gender from birth, which adds a sense of relief while also heavily heightening the anxieties of what they may face in the future.
