He smiles as he sits down.

Takes a breath as he looks around.

Until his eyes

Meet the love of his life.

She’s laughing ‘til the sun goes down.

His world’s spinning round and round

Until the time has crossed that crooked line.

I heard she died the way she wanted

As peaceful as could be.

Never underestimate the things you’ve never seen.

Crying hour after hour

As they came to his door

Telling him things will never be the same as they were before.

She’s laying that unmade bed

His hands holding her sweet head

The emptiness inside

Has drove her to goodbye

The pills soak up the horror

That he doesn’t understand.

The trip through the tunnel towards the light

is coming to an end.

I heard she died the way she wanted

As peaceful as could be.

Never underestimate the things you’ve never seen.

Crying hour after hour

As they came to his door

Telling him things will never be the same as they were before.

The pills soak up her worries

Everything is blurry

The pain just won’t go away

There’s nothing left to say

Why is everything so gray?

He’s laying in that unmade bed

Wondering what he could’ve said

To change her mind before it was time.

He’s sitting outside of the bar

Staring at his old blue car

Wishing he could have said goodbye.
