I shed a tear for Tucson;
A tear for Taylor Green;
A tear for all the broken hearts
And grieving souls I've seen.
I shed a tear for those who passed
And saw the face of God;
A tear for gunman Loughner,
Lost in his façade.
I shed a tear for Gabrielle,
Healing from her wound;
A tear for all America,
In harmony attuned.

This poem was inspired by the tragic Tucson shooting in January 2011. May those who lost their lives rest in peace.

A very sad day indeed.  Your poem expresses the same emotions that many Americans felt on that day.  Keep the poems coming. You have a great talent.

I also cried when this happened and again reading this poem. It's rare to read one with such emotion. Thank you for sharing it with the world and I. Keep them coming please!
