Once again,
A sleepless night.

The radio won't shut-up,
Another unsuccessful fight.

No good channels to listen to,
Just stupid thoughts of reoccuring worries.

Projects unfinished, homework due,
And memories that leave the eyes blurring.

Toss and turn in the covers,
Can't get quite comfy.

Pillows smell of last night's saliva,
Mattress is hard and lumpy.

Open and close your eyes,
Pull the blanket over your head.

Try to call the sweet bliss of sleep,
And pro-long the over occuring morning death.

The hazy feeling of heavy eyelids,
Teases you so rudely.

They're heavy, but not heavy enough.
It's too good to be true.

Tossing and turning until the sun plays peek-a-boo,
Greet the world with the finger.

Greet the half-dead corpse in the mirror,
Too dead to care, or to even linger

In the bathroom to make the beauty come alive,
Put on shades to block the sunshine.

Awkward friendship of the hair and scrunchie,
Kiss the long for sleep good-bye.

I wrote this one night when I couldn't go to sleep. It takes me forever to go to sleep because my brain will NEVER shut-up.
