      Music to my ears

My headphones play nasty beats

      Dub-step is my jam

       My mixtape is fire

It's pumping through my headphones

       The bass is turnt up

       My headphones lay still

The silence is deafening

        No music to play

       The emptiness hurts

My ear drums are empty voids

       The lack of sound kills

@Hiku_master Hi, it is nice to meet you, my name is Katie. Have you read my free verse poem by the name of Widow, by chance? It sounds vaguely familiar. This line was used in there several times "The silence is deafening because..." I think this was an okay poem for you, but what killed it for me was that I don't think that line fit well in this poem at all. I also find it highly unlikely that we used the exact same line in our poetry. I hope you have a good day.
