glints of light
the tree makes
a net in the sky
feet pound
the marley floor
no socks allowed
i open the window –
it squeaks.
and outside is rain
the song sounds
like last summer
but the heater is on
the sand mixes
into my braid –
a souvenir.
the shoe is soft
dirty pink
stitches at the toe
early morning cold
the laptop glows
he is far away.
the wind rushes
through the trees –
I wake up.
