You Alone
I tilt into life
My steps waver, drift apart
colorless future
You, grace by nature
prepared with care, joyful gift
Endless tomorrows
So when I tell you
now, before you can argue
turn your face away
Vineyards strewn with gold
can't begin to compare to
the curl of your smile
Me holding your hand
is like caressing a dream
Flawless yet unknown
The gossamer thread
of your affectionate joy
captures a lone heart
I cannot compete
or try to equate to you
Your charm, your beauty
Because I, I lack
even normalcy alone, and you
lovely, faultless, pure
There's one thing I have
It's love, for you, for your love
I cannot live without
You complete me.

This is a somewhat freeverse-style poem, but I used haikus for all of the stanzas, with the exception of the very last line. The reason I did so was because I was interested in challenge, and also thought that this style would only compound the potential meaning or effect of my work.
I hope people are inspired by this piece and interpret it to apply to themselves, regardless of differing thoughts. I hope they are inspired to try their best, to work hard, to accept themselves, and to become the person they believe they can be.
