Colors

By Anonymous

Red:
A sunset’s last words
painted across the night sky,
says “I’ll be back soon.”

Orange:
The color of flames
soaring into the sky with
ember-tipped wings

Yellow:
Rays of the sun beat
down on the earth and ripen
waiting fields of corn

Green
Spring’s quiet gesture
A signal of life to come
Mother Earth’s first breath

Blue:
The color of sky
on a day without the clouds
peaceful and serene

Indigo:
The coming of night
sends the sun away with a
magic of its own

Violet:
Majestic beauty
sunset on the mountains, a
color fit for kings

White:
An empty paper
the color of a promise
yet to be fulfilled

Black:
A color born from
chaos, peace found from war, a
color that unites
