Three Haiku + One

I
Birds flit through the leaves,
clutching breakfast (juicy worms)
in their razor beaks.

II
The pine trees alight,
crumbling under the tongues
of a starving blaze.

III
Charred remains of life
emanate wisps of gray smoke
that snake to the clouds.

IV
There are no more birds.

I love the last line of the haiku, it really wraps it up.
