Great Oaks

White discharges strike,
The earth shudders beneath them,
The sky cries cold tears
Great oaks topple down
Beating the earth like a drum,
Sparks turn to fierce fires
The cascade veil pours,
Deforestation un-phased
By the feeble dew,
Infernos cloak groves
plants vanish replaced by ruin
Flames die like fruit flies
Seeds embrace the ground,
Parents depart from their child
Leaving room to grow
Renewing giant life
Young oaks begin the cycle,
The great oak cycle.
