Nervous at the start
Adrenaline pumps through me
Heart beats with each step

Mile ten, legs give way
Tired muscles beg for rest
Can't give up just yet

Cup of water passed
Quenches my parched throat's desire
Fuel to keep me strong

Endorphins kick in
Final stretch in sight, I push
Satisfaction reigns

Crossing the finish
Blissful relief washes through
Proud to be a marathoner

The Haiku I made was after I finished the SRLA Marathon back in March. Every time I look back on it I remember the struggle of running all the 26 miles, but I also look back at all of the support we were given on the way. From the small cups of water to the people cheering us on, all of it pushed us to the finish.
