I was quite taken aback when my mother first told me that dandelions were weeds. I thought they were flowers like the rest of the plants in the garden. My mother would scold me for blowing the seeds across the yard, when all I wanted was to make a wish. Dandelions have always been sort of magical, or different, than the other weeds I've seen. It was always funny how I was drawn to spread their fluffy seeds around for my own needs and wants. This poem has been one of my favorites I wrote throughout this school year, and I'm excited to share it with others.
