Let’s take a minute,

To go back and revisit,

The souls lost to grief.

Though they’ve loved and lost,

They somehow forget the cost:

Thwarting his belief.

The fallen now cries,

Empty promises and lies

Obstruct his relief.

The spirit still dwells,

A funeral on egg shells;

Eulogies so brief.

Dismissing their regret,

He would sooner just forget;

Putrefy the beef.

He seeks their closure:

“Reconcile and turn over

The stones and the leaf!”
