Your smile was contagious, the laughter toxic

your presence ecstatic, the memories lethal

 

We could have raised our glasses to the sky

And drank 'till the morning light 

Arms intertwined

Spoken without a word

Everything was pure and true

Until the reality hit

And the lights turned off

The colours faded

The music stopped 

And you were gone.
