Summer Socks

As Dad starts the fire, Mom bundles us before it gets dark and Allison gets tired. In the summer, we forget about socks, except for nights outside roasting marshmallows, avoiding mosquitos. Mismatched socks thrown in the washer and forgotten about . . . until chilly September when Allison’s looking for one lost sock before school starts.
