My Secret MAG
Keeping a secret is like having a splinter
More than anything you just want to get rid of it
But you’re afraid of the pain and the blood that will follow
My secret lives in my stomach
It twists and it writhes and it burns and it makes me queasy
I want to eject it but I can’t just yet
When I think about telling my secret, it makes me want to hold something
Not a hand, but something that I can lay in my palm and just crush
Something I can squeeze that’ll remind me that I’m alive
I forget about my secret sometimes, when I lose myself in the day
When I remember, it hits me like a freight train
It takes the breath away from me and sends a piercing jolt to my stomach
If you leave a splinter in too long, it will get infected and destroy the host
Which is why I am confessing my secret tomorrow, and will finally let the blood flow
But tomorrow isn’t today, so I seal my lips and leave the splinter in
