If I kissed you right now
What would it mean?
Not just for us, but for the world
Will my lips meeting yours start a war?
I hope not
Sometimes I wish a kiss was really just a kiss
But it isn’t in a world like ours
One where we divide ourselves by race, class, religion, gender
No one will look at us as equals
Nobody will see us as we are
We will be a political statement
A battle cry
An abomination
We will never just be two people kissing
