Breaths
The silhouette of a tree,
Painted sky behind the gray,
muted houses.
Watercolor sunset, carefully crafted;
Dark clouds plastered
on the surface.
Breaths of every person
condensed
into wispy concentrations.
Breaths in red, roaring rage,
others lavender, lucid love;
Fighting to dominate,
to shade the clouds.
Dissipating, they force the sunset
to fade to a deep indigo;
Arms wrapping around the clouds,
Holding them tightly in the sky.
All illuminated by the moon,
a hanging picture on a wall.
In a sky full of thoughts,
In a sky full of breaths.
