The professor’s hands would bleed
When he taught
Standing meek before the classroom
His fingers were raw and red
He had hangnails like screeching on chalk
Fleshy splinters from chewing and chipping
Away at his nails all day
Fat red drops oozed out of his skin
Blood rings
Dripped down to his knuckles and
Turned into brown crust under his nails
