Where I'm From
I’m from deep breaths,
traveling and spontaneously going on thousands of adventures.
I’m from friendship,
putting myself last and my friends first.
I’m from 2 am drives,
the sound of blasting rap and pop music with the wind whipping my hair.
I’m from a broken family,
no matter how hard I try the divorce won’t get resolved.
I’m from 2 am nights and 7 am mornings,
working the best to my ability and persevering.
I’m from dance and poms,
the intricate body movement expresses who I am and the subsequent happiness or sadness inside me.
I’m from the smell of crisp autumn leaves,
the smell of pumpkin pie fresh out the oven and freshly brewed apple cider.
I’m from the warm snuggles,
holding people tight on chilly Christmas nights.
I’m from Friday night football games,
dancing at halftime and hearing my friends and family’s support through their voices.
My life is full of car crashes and winning 1st place,
that’s what makes my life unique.
