purples
you're the hazy lilac at the precipice of the horizon,
gently rolling over star-kissed hills.
your african violets melt my drowsiness,
pulling my hair off my shoulders in a twilight daze.
the touch of gray that accompanies the sun's last whisper
reminds me of your fingertips,
but in the mirage of white that trails with the moon,
you're suddenly yet gently gone.
