Screaming Silence
Hands over my ears
I’ll paint myself white
And say I’m noise
I’ll play the music
Like I’m determined to deafen myself
I’ll cut open my throat
To let out my screams
Since my lips refuse to part
And speak those biting words
Choked
I’m fighting
Orange lights in the sky
Pollute my eyes
The silence begs me to shatter it
So I’ll throw my body against it
Until I break through
And find myself weightless
Outside the world
Amidst the overwhelming sounds
Of stars shooting bright sound
And the universe shouting out eternity
My head will be filled
With written noise
That blocks out my thoughts
I’ll cover my eyes
And release my vocal chords
And join my voice with galaxies
And ring out cosmic shrieks
Splitting gravity
And rippling space
I’ll be an ocean of sound waves
Reverberating and resonating
Crashing
Against the shores of heaven
My voice will be heard
It will be released
I will be unmuted
I will be free
