Sugar

Heartbeats stutter
like the words dripping from my tongue
you are candle wax unlike no other
melting through the depths of my winter
into
the most beautiful spring
the universe produces the strangest of things
and wraps two souls together in unbreakable string

when we finally fall alone
we must strip it down to skin and bone
as I'll trace the land you have roamed
and you'll lick the salt of the hell I've called home
we create music with each and every moan
and inside of me
on your lips
we whisper that we have found a home

my mind is full of bleach
my skin is stitched in salty sin
but you fill the holes
inside my heart
inside my soul
with sugar
