friendship- a safe haven
your arms encircling me like a haven of warmth and love in which I never feel afraid
your laugh like the ocean, bubbling out of you with the stars in your eyes
you are as strong as the wind and as beautiful as an evergreen
you are a forest in which I find myself reflected in the dark and the light
I hope the sun always shines on you to grow and there is never a storm to upset
your laugh, that the moon always lights up the stars in your eyes,
and that you always love me

I wrote this about my best friend who was helping me through a rough time, and I realized he had been giving me a safe haven and a safe space to express my emotions (similar to what poetry provides for me).
