The Last Game

Three minutes on the score board and
we are tied twenty four to twenty four.
The ball flies at me with full force,
I scream “I got it”
Every one scurries out of the way, so I dive for it
I hit it to the setter
Then the setter hits it back to me.
I hit it as hard as I can,
And it barely goes over the net.
The opposite team hits it back over,
I keep thinking “what if it comes to me and I miss it”
with one minute and fifty seconds left.
It comes back to me,
I dive for it,
and I hit it to the back.
Jenna hits it over the net,
and the other team runs for it,
but they miss.
