Once upon a time,

I looked up and it was raining.

I let the cool drops run over me.

I smiled as the earth showered.

It was refreshing and relaxing,

Peaceful, even.

Before the thunder boomed,

The lightning illuminated the sky,

And the storm exhilarared inside my soul.

 

Once upon a time,

I woke up.

The rain had turned to tears,

The thunder had turned into a racing heartbeat,

and the lightning had turned to pain.
