“Wrongfully do men lament the flight of time….Let your work be such that after death you become an image of immortality.” -Leonardo Da Vinci

All it is these days is hurt.
Hurt day in, day out,
Weekday, weekend,
And it won’t stop,

Nor is it seen ever in the future
That it will fade,
Fade away back
To where I once was.

Time always slows down
To a crawl, finding my way
Into something new, something old,
And something just plain confusing

Down straight annoying that
Bothers me until I’m laying in the corner,
Back to my dresser as I stare up towards
The ceiling painted with soft ambers and gold.

And I sit there.
Sat there until the night peaks,
Rain tapping against my windows
While the broken laughters play outside the hall.

Conflicting sides unfold,
A torn heart,
Mind,
Beaten soul

Dimmed to the light of the lamp in front of me,
Pulsing with defeat, wanting to take one more stand,
But downed,
Drowned in its tears of loss.

The coldest thing, those eyes.
The eyes that stared back, wild, crazy, but fed
With exhaust and depression, left alone in the
Darkest of times, in this world of life,

alone.
