Winter's Romance
Blue lips and a frozen heart
Are what you get when you fall in love with winter.
His own pale lips are bitter on yours
And his frosty fingers grip yours numbingly
As you dance together,
Swirling around like a pair of snowflakes.
His chilling blue eyes pierce you
With a cold gaze that freezes you on the spot,
And his hollow, empty voice whispers loving lies
Intended to suck all the warmth and life from you.
And when he leaves as he always does,
You shatter like the ice he turned you into,
Your heart too frozen to let you melt
And cry away the stinging needles of pain he left you with.
So in your frigid state, all you can do
Is let the wind sweep up your crystallized fragments,
Carrying you up then letting you slowly fall
And turning you into yet another sorrowful snowfall:
Simply another lonely victim of winter’s cold-heartedness.
