Indescribable
I've tried over and over
To describe the feeling of life,
That overwhelming surge and tide
Of freedom and emotion
That fills my lungs with air
And sets my heart to beating
With the rhythm of the world.
Yet no matter how hard I try,
No matter which words I use,
I can never explain the way
It feels when the power courses through me,
Lifting my eyes and raising me up
To stand against the world in defiance,
In a nameless, silent shout of
"I hold poetry within me,
And I will never be conquered!"
