Remember
I wonder if you remember
all those nights we didn't want to waste.
How your words were just for me,
and the tone of your voice told me it was 4:17 am.
How your sentences left me speechless
because your brain is more beautiful than an entire universe.
How your heart -- that had once beat against mine
but was eternities away -- relentlessly pulled at my own.
How that thunderstorm our skies shared
helped me realize I never wanted to lose you.
And when those nights turned to morning,
I wondered if you would remember.
