You knew that smell;
my cologne fixed with smoke.
You hated that I smoked.
You hated when I did it behind your back even more.
You were going to drive my car now.
I know that you knew my cigarettes were in the glovebox.
But I didn’t know you’d collapse into the passenger’s seat and light one up.
