“Wrongfully do men lament the flight of time….Let your work be such that after death you become an image of immortality.” -Leonardo Da Vinci

Summer
Yet the breeze screams Winter with
Her torrid tongue wailing, wailing
The broken cries of years past.

The carnage of memories from
A demolished heart, mind; soul.
Body in ruins from the
Aching wounds that last.

Another devastated soul slouched,
Shy and scared for what’s next, for
The worst had finally taken its toll
With no light cast.

The slumber eased the eyes, just as
Waves lapped against the arms,
Drowned in hopes and dreams so that
Pain would move on fast.
